Eric Bana's Film Love the Beast on SpeedTV Friday December 18th

Eric Bana's Love the BeastWhen Hollywood stars race, motorsport wins. Think of the profile sport car racing gained from Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and Patrick Dempsey competing. For fans of Targa racing, Eric Bana has locked-up Hollywood hero status with the 2009 release of Love the Beast.

Bana, the 41 year old Australian actor has starred in blockbuster hits Black Hawk Down, The Hulk, Troy, Finding Nemo, Munich, Star Trek, and The Time Traveler's Wife. Such commercial success and experience allows Eric the freedom to pursue his own film projects.

As a life-long revhead, it was only natural for Bana to produce, star, and direct a movie about his first car, a potent Ford Falcon XB Coupe, and over a 25 year span how he came to be competing with it in Targa Tasmania. Somehow Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson, and Dr. Phil all co-star as themselves.

When TCW Competition Director Glyn Trafford and I competed in Tassie this past April, there was much excitement in the Targa ranks about the Beast movie. Our Aussie teammates know Eric after years of Tassie and Classic Adelaide events, and felt he would be keen to compete in Targa Canada West - it being (relatively) close to Hollywood. We will work to make this a reality.

Love the Beast will be broadcast on SpeedTV this Friday evening (the 18th), back-to-back, at both 8 pm and 10 pm EST, (5 pm and 7 pm Pacific Time Zone). It should prove the perfect early winter tonic to get your own Targa car finished.

Seasons Greetings
